CropProphet Enterprise Adds New Analytics Tab for U.S. Crop and Weather Analysis
CropProphet Enterprise now includes a new Analytics tab for the United States, giving grain market participants interactive access to widely followed crop and weather indicators directly inside the CropProphet platform.
CropProphet customers already have access to objective, weather-based crop supply predictions. The new Analytics tab adds another layer of market context by bringing crop progress, crop condition, drought, and severe weather analytics into the same environment.
What is included in the new Analytics tab?
The Analytics tab includes four interactive tools designed to support crop-weather analysis for U.S. grain markets:
Crop Progress
Track development metrics by crop, geography, historical range, and anomaly.
Crop Condition
Compare current Good + Excellent ratings with historical distributions.
Drought
Analyze U.S. Drought Monitor categories through a production-weighted crop lens.
Severe Weather
Evaluate hail and wind reports across U.S. corn-producing counties.
Each tool includes flexible map and chart displays that make it easier to visualize, analyze, and compare the information most relevant to your workflow. Users can hover over plotted data for additional values and export graphics as PNG files directly from the display.
1. Crop Progress
The Crop Progress tool allows users to select either a map or chart display for corn, soybeans, spring wheat, and winter wheat. Available crop progress metrics vary by crop, and users can select either the full historical period or the last 15 years for climatology.
Map display
The map provides a state-level view across the Lower 48 United States. Users can switch from raw values to anomalies to display the current crop progress percentage deviation from normal. Users can also select the period displayed, including the current week, two weeks ago, or four weeks ago.

Chart display
The chart compares the current year’s crop progress metric to the historical distribution for the selected crop and geography. The geography selection includes the United States or an individual state. Users can also select a specific historical year for comparison with the current year.
Interactive chart features allow users to move the cursor over current-year data points to view the progress percentage and percentile. The lower panel displays each weekly percentage deviation from the climatology median.

2. Crop Condition
The Crop Condition tool includes both map and chart displays, similar to the Crop Progress tool. Users can evaluate Good + Excellent conditions for corn, soybeans, spring wheat, and winter wheat across the Lower 48 United States.
Map display
In the map display, users can view Good + Excellent crop condition values as either raw values or anomalies. Users can select the current period, two-week period, or four-week period. Hover functionality provides additional state-level information, including Good + Excellent condition, deviation from the median, two-week deviation change, and four-week deviation change.

Chart display
In the chart display, users can compare the current year’s Good + Excellent condition to the historical distribution for the selected crop and geography. Users can also select specific historical years for comparison. The lower panel displays the weekly percentage deviation from the climatology median.

3. Drought: U.S. Drought Monitor Analytics
The Drought tool includes four displays based on the U.S. Drought Monitor: Latest Drought Map, Latest Production Impact, Production Impact History, and Drought Index.
Latest Drought Map
The Latest Drought Map allows users to select a crop, including corn, soybeans, spring wheat, winter wheat, cotton, oats, and rice. The map shows the U.S. Drought Monitor category for crop-growing counties. Users can filter counties by production share, ranging from the top 100 percent of production counties to the top 10 percent of production counties, with selections available in 5 percent increments.

Latest Production Impact
The Latest Production Impact display shows the percentage of crop production affected by each U.S. Drought Monitor drought category. Users can select the crop and geography, including the United States or an individual state. The black horizontal lines indicate the median for each drought category.
Users can move the cursor over a drought category column to view that category’s share of production, deviation from normal, one-month change, and three-month change.

Production Impact History
The Production Impact History display shows the historical percentage of crop production affected by each U.S. Drought Monitor drought category in a time-series chart. Users can select a portion of the chart to zoom in and analyze a specific period.

Drought Index
The Drought Index display shows the crop production-weighted drought index through time. Users can select a crop and geography, including the United States or an individual state. Users can move the cursor over the index line to view the index value for a specific date.
4. Severe Weather Dashboard
The Severe Weather Dashboard includes two display options: map and chart. The dashboard is designed to help users evaluate severe hail and wind reports across U.S. corn-producing counties.
Map display
In the map display, users can view severe weather reports for hail and wind over U.S. corn-producing counties. The green shading indicates each county’s share of U.S. national corn production, with darker green shading representing a larger production share.
Users can select the latest available date or a historical date back to 2012. Users can move the cursor over a severe weather report marker to view the county where the report was filed and the reported wind speed or hail size.

Chart display
In the chart display, users can select the hazard, threshold, start date, and geography. Hazard selections include hail and wind. The start date can be selected as the first day of each month, and the geography selection includes the United States or an individual state.
The chart shows the accumulated percentage of crop production in counties affected by hail or wind reports that meet the selected threshold and start date criteria. Users can move the cursor over a specific line and date to view that year’s value on that date. The thicker dark red line represents the current year.
